Laurie de Vries is legal translator who translates documents of the highest complexity from Dutch into English at JMS Textservice.
Working at JMS gives Laurie the opportunity to write beautiful English, to spar with colleagues about terminology and then to apply that terminology and her translation skills to clarify the differences between legal systems to prevent misunderstandings. Laurie mentors all the junior translators at JMS and teaches them to use the richness of English grammar and vocabulary to communicate the tone and meaning of a Dutch text to the intended reader.
